Photographic papers offer familiar finishes such as glossy, matte, and luster. Our fine art selection includes Photo Rag, Fine Art Baryta, and Platine Fibre Rag, each with a distinctive surface and feel. Choose based on your image and the presentation you prefer.
Luster is a versatile starting point for photography. Glossy offers a shiny finish, while Matte provides a non-glossy appearance. Metallic adds a distinctive metallic sheen. For fine art printing, choose Photo Rag for a matte surface, Fine Art Baryta for a glossy finish, or Platine Fibre Rag for a satin finish.
No. Metallic is a paper with a metallic finish. Your image is printed on paper, not on a metal panel.
For best results, prepare your image in RGB mode using the Adobe RGB (1998) color profile, and embed the profile when saving your file. Aim for 300 PPI at your intended print size—often referred to as 300 DPI.
Use the original, highest-resolution image available. Simply changing the resolution setting to 300 PPI does not add detail to a low-resolution image.
If your file uses a different embedded color profile, convert it to Adobe RGB (1998) rather than assigning the profile, to help preserve its appearance. If you are unsure about your file's profile, contact us before changing it.
The suitable print size depends on your image's pixel dimensions, sharpness, and intended viewing distance. Use the original, highest-resolution file available. Screenshots and images downloaded from social media may contain less detail than the original.
For example, an 8 × 10-inch print at 300 PPI requires an image measuring 2,400 × 3,000 pixels. Larger prints viewed from farther away may still look good at a lower resolution.
If your image and selected print size have different proportions, filling the entire print area requires cropping. To preserve the full composition, choose a size that matches your image's proportions or contact us before ordering.
Some differences are normal. Screens emit light, while prints reflect it. Screen brightness, display settings, paper finish, and room lighting can all affect how colors appear. Using the recommended color profile helps maintain a consistent workflow but does not guarantee an exact screen-to-print match.
Glossy, luster, matte, and fine art surfaces reflect light differently, changing how contrast, color, and texture appear. A screen preview cannot fully reproduce the finish of the printed paper.
No. Matte paper is a printing paper with a non-glossy finish. A mat board is a separate framing component that surrounds the printed image.
